OH Goody! It looks like my Daddy is building me a new rocket toy! Yeeeee! Haaaa! Doty |
Mini Burner |
This is my mini burner that I made for firing my mini furnace. It is designed for propane fuel. It is capable of being a self aspirating
burner or forced air can be used buy using a handheld hair blow dryer. It is made
from simple materials that are easily gotten at your local hardware store or
possible from materials laying around the shop scraps, etc. |

Start out by getting a piece of 1/2" pipe aprox 4.5" long, a 1 1/4-1 1/2" reducing
bell, a brass nipple pipe 1/4" dia x aprox 2 1/2" long, and a cap to fit the
brass nipple on one end. Drill a #57 hole in the side of the brass niple, clean
out any burrs, etc. from the drilled hole. dril an oversisized hole thru the side
of the bell thru both sides as shown just large enough for the brass tube. Slip the brass tube thru and capping one end, drill and tap a small hole in
the side of the bell for using a set screw to hold the brass tube in place once
you line the # 57 hole perfectly centered facing the small end of the small.
Screw in the 1/2" pipe, one end threaded only to the bell. You have now created
the burner assemble. next is an air plate on the large end of the beel and hooking
up your propane hose to the open end of the brass tube, you will need to obtain
some fittings for this. |
I had to use a bushing from 1/2" to 3/4" to fit the bell I had in my scrap bin. |
