Welcome to CLINTS 101
This is one of My Daddy's Favorites, Mine also, so hands off. Grrrrr!     Doty
Smith and Mils 15in Shaper
I bought this off ebay, and I had to drive up to KC to pick it up. The seller loaded it practically by himself using jacks and come a longs, I was very impressed.
I did not notice when I picked it up till I made it home and unloaded myself, but the from of the base casting was cracked and broke off when the weight was on that end. I repaired it by grinding matching V's and using 55NI welding rod. Pix below of the repair as well as loading. Now that the base is repaired, I will dismantle and paint, as well as condition the machined surfaces. It came with a motor and vice. Thi smachine is quiet old, not sure the age as I have yet to find a ser# but I estimate it to be between a 1900 and 1930's. Eventually I may find the ser as I dismantle and paint.
