Burke Universal Milling Machine |
I traded for this Burke mill from a friend of mine. Not ever really seeing it before
the trade, I was expecting a table top machine, but it turns out I like this
better.. here you view pix of unloading, pix before and after restoration. I have not been able to find out much info about this machine. It is a Universal mill,, using two spindles, a 30 taper for the horizontal milling and R8 for the millrite vertcal head. (Bridgeport clone) It has a coolant pump and hyd. power feeds. This thing is in good condition except for a lot of surface rust from sitting for whoever knows how long? The coolant tray has a chip broken out which I think I can repair easy enough. So it will take a lot of clean up, I more than likely will completely dismantle and repaint. It is 3 phase which I will run it off my phase convertor. I am considering changing the longitude leadscrew out to a manual feed instead of the hyd. leadscrew. If you know where I can find info please let me know by email, also if you have any other suggestions. |
